How much does a motorcycle MOT cost at Colin Flashman Motorcycles?
A motorcycle MOT (Class 1 and Class 2) costs £29.65, or £37.80 for a motorcycle with sidecar. We test bikes, scooters, sidecars and trikes at our DVSA-approved testing station in Gunnislake, between Callington and Tavistock. Call 01822 832422 to book — we can usually fit MOTs in quickly.
What is your labour rate for motorcycle servicing and repairs?
Our standard labour rate is £50+VAT per hour, with specialist rates for quads and classic British bikes. We’ll always tell you what needs doing, what can wait, and what it’ll cost before we start — no surprises.
What areas do you cover?
We’re based in St Anns Chapel, Gunnislake, on the Devon and Cornwall border, with customers riding in from Tavistock, Callington, Launceston, Plymouth, Saltash, Liskeard, Yelverton, Okehampton, Bodmin and across the Tamar Valley. There’s plenty of free on-site parking.
Do you collect and deliver motorcycles?
Yes. We offer a motorcycle collection and delivery service at competitive rates using our own van, which safely transports motorcycles, scooters and quads. If your bike won’t start or you can’t get to us, give us a call for a quote.
What brands of motorcycle do you service?
All of them. We service and repair all major brands — Japanese, European and classic British machines — from modern sportsbikes and commuters to motocross bikes, scooters and classics. Founded in 1975, we have over 50 years of hands-on experience across every type of motorcycle.
Do you fit motorcycle tyres, and can you get tyres the same day?
Yes. We carry a large stock of motorcycle, scooter, motocross and classic tyres from Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, Avon, Dunlop, Metzeler and more. If we don’t have your tyre in stock, we can usually get it the same day for fitting or collection.
Do you buy motorcycles or take part exchange?
Yes to both. We buy motorcycles for cash and take part exchanges against any bike in our showroom. We can appraise your bike on site or remotely — send us photos and details and we’ll give you an honest valuation.
What warranty comes with your used motorcycles?
Every used motorcycle we sell comes with a 3-month warranty as standard, covering all aspects of the bike apart from wear-and-tear items. Bikes are sold fully serviced with a fresh MOT. If anything goes wrong in the first three months, just call us and pop the bike back for inspection.
Do you offer motorcycle storage?
Yes. We offer secure indoor motorcycle storage from £20+VAT per month — ideal for winter storage or if you’re going away and want your bike kept safe and dry.
Do you work on motocross and off-road bikes?
Yes — off-road is a speciality. We handle everything from oil and filter changes to full engine rebuilds, suspension servicing, and spoked wheel building and straightening (Talon, SM Pro and Excel rims).
Can you diagnose electrical and dashboard faults?
Yes. We have advanced diagnostic code-reading equipment covering ABS faults, ignition faults, dash faults, emissions issues and service light resets across all major brands.
What are your opening hours?
